Beauty Tip for the Week:
After being told several times that a satin pillow case is really good for the hair, I am just now trying it. Most of you know that I am a natural hair advocate and I try to promote anything that will keep the hair healthy. However, I can’t believe that it took me this long to try the satin pillowcase. After reading up on the benefits of changing from cotton to satin, I am happy to say that I have made my first purchase. What’s even better is that you can find them in every girl’s favorite department store, Target. They have stardard and king in a variety of colors for about $9.99. Here are some of the benefits of sleeping on satin:

  • Minimizes hair damage and breakage
  • Maintains natural moisture balance in the hair and face
  • Protects your hair from course cotton

Take a chance and switch your pillowcase from cotton to satin and let me know how it goes.

For your Listening Pleasure
I have two favorites right now: Deitrick Haddon and the Voice of Unity and The Sound of the New Breed. Both of these are great praise and worship cds that will encourage you in whatever you are going through.

As for Deitrick Haddon, it was nice to hear a different side of him. His cds usually have more of a Christian R&B feel. This cd is live and it is full of people praising and worshipping the Lord. This cd is so good that while you are playing it you may start to think that you are actually at the live recording. Deitrick had a lot of different gospel artists to lead tracks on this project such as William Murphy, Darwin Hobbs and Tonex. I have a lot of favorites on the cd, but if I had to pick one I would choose, “You Are God.” My suggestion would be to download the cd from ITunes because not all of the songs are on the cds that are sold in stores.

The Sound of the New Breed is produced by Israel Houghton. The cd is full of songs which will be very familiar if you listen to a lot of gospel music. On this project they have taken songs like, “You Are Good” and “Ancient of Days and turned them completely around. The whole cd is great with a lot of fast tracks to keep you moving. The cd is entitled Kingdom and it is the second release from this group.

Visit the place where you usually buy music and get these two cds. Believe me when I say that you do not want to sleep on these.

That’s all I have for you this week. I’ve given you lots of good information for the week so take heed if there’s a need. Have fun while you “Shop the Peach.”
